For me Confusion Energy is a term that describes what is really going on to hide the truth. Human effort spent on concealment, confusing the public about the facts people really want to know. In 1997 there was a great film about this titled “ Wag the Dog” and I guess it stuck with me. Watch that movie if you haven’t seen it, then start searching through “You Tube”, “Google” and others for similar stories about the “Bush” Presidency. It will make you think about just how much of this must have been going on during those years. For me I had been deeply involved in a film about peace composing and recording the score. One particular interview with a soldier really blew me away. He had been deployed before getting married, but his fiancé was pregnant. Wile overseas there were complications with her pregnancy. Because the two were only common law at the time, the US Military refused to help with the medical bills to pay for the treatments necessary to save his child. This young soldier was putting his life on the line for his country but his country would not step up and help his common law wife & unborn child. He states “because of the US Military I lost my Child”. Had he known how much his life and the lives of his family members really didn’t matter to the United States Government, he “would have never joined the service”. Two years after working on this film I’m finishing up songs for my third album. I have what I feel is a great Instrumental track, but it needs something more. I start going through some of the public domain JFK speech recordings I have. I couldn’t believe how relevant some of his words were still today, and thought some of this has to go in this song. I started editing and placing the lines. Really having a blast not knowing if what I came up with would really work. In the end, thankfully it represents what I set out to do. So to finish this story I’d just like to say that the song is not really about corrupt politics but more about the statement “ Seeing is believing” and how that is used against us most of the time. Think about that, and don’t be afraid to ask questions. Just because you see it on TV or in a newspaper doesn’t really give it the credentials of “Truth”.
